Help with South River reclamation

In the spirit of the holiday season give the gift of volunteering for the South River Rivercane Reintroduction Project. Volunteers will help to restore the South River by removing invasive Chinese privet which will allow native rivercane to regrow. Mentors sought

Volunteers needed to mentor members of The Next Stop, a program that provides opportunities for social interactions, recreational activities, and life application learning for adults who have special needs such as mild intellectual disabilities, high level autism, or mild brain injuries.

Holiday meal packers wanted

Spread a little holiday cheer by helping out a senior. Meal packers are to help to ensure that seniors have enough to eat for the holidays. Children over 12 are welcome in the kitchen.

Santa’s helpers sought for Rhodes Hall event

Each year, The Georgia Trust hosts Santa at Rhodes Hall for portraits to be taken with Santa at the historic castle on Peachtree.

Ten Santa’s are needed each day to keep the day running smoothly by assisting in the craft room, overseeing the refreshments area, running a storytime area for younger children, facilitating registrations and working as the photographer’s assistant.

You may choose to work one or multiple shifts. The minimum age to volunteer with adult supervision is 16.

When: 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 19; 1 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 20

Able-bodied persons needed to work in the food pantry to receive and weigh donations and to stock shelves and pack bags. Must commit to one shift a week.
