The intruders came climbing through the living room window at 2 p.m. Monday.

There were four of them, at least one gun, DeKalb County police said. The crew found the couple who lived in the apartment off North Indian Creek Drive, near Clarkston. The intruders punched the couple in their faces repeatedly, ransacked the bedrooms, and at least one of them placed a gun to their heads, demanding money, jewelry and cell phones.

Then the couple was barricaded in a bathroom and held against their will.

Warrants obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution say the robbery crew took a gold ring and necklace, a debit card and various paper documents. But it was the red iPhone 7 Plus that led police to one suspect.

The phone was tracked from The Lakes at Indian Creek apartments to a house on Texel Lane, about a mile away.

At the door, police met the parents of 17-year-old Lual Gang Lual. Lual was in his bedroom sleeping.

Woken up, the teenager admitted he’d taken part in the home invasion and allowed officers to search his room, according to the warrants. He was arrested on charges of home invasion and armed robbery.

The warrants say the other three suspects are still unidentified.
