The qualifying fee was set recently by the Acworth Board of Aldermen at $396 each for three posts for the Nov. 5 general election.

Fees are determined as 3 percent of the $13,200 gross salary.

Aldermen Posts 1, 2 and 3 will be decided on Nov. 5 in at-large races.

These three terms will last four years from Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2023.

Qualifying dates will be in late August.

To be eligible to serve as an alderman, a candidate must be a qualified city voter and an Acworth resident for one year immediately before the election date.

Currently, these posts are held by Post 1 Alderman Butch Price, serving his sixth term; Post 2 Alderman Gene Pugliese, serving his third term and Post 3 Alderman Brett North who was selected during a 2014 special election.
