The leader of the accrediting agency for DeKalb County will meet with the school board Wednesday evening.

Mark Elgart, president and CEO of AdvancED, the parent company of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, will discuss the school district’s accreditation issues at 6 p.m. at school district headquarters, 1701 Mountain Industrial Blvd., Stone Mountain.

SACS placed the district on probation and has threatened to strip accreditation if the board is unable to address management concerns. The agency plans a status report in May.
