The break was nice while it lasted.
The tolls on Ga. 400 resumed Friday night after being suspended for a week so construction workers could alter the Cruise Card system.
The technology was changed to be compatible with the planned all-electronic I-85 toll lane -- the HOV lane from Chamblee Tucker Road to Old Peachtree Road -- which is expected to open later this summer. That toll will be based on congestion, ranging from 10 cents to 90 cents a mile, the State Road and Tollway Authority Board has said.
The Cruise Card has been renamed the Peach Pass, and the SRTA said drivers should be able to use the same transponder on both roads once the I-85 plan is operational.
The SRTA said the Ga. 400 toll brings in an average $54,000 per day.
