A changed voting location led to some confusion Tuesday for Fulton County voters.
Richard Barron, Fulton’s director of registration and elections, said two people called about a polling location that had changed in October.
Those who used to vote at Perkerson Park now vote at the Metropolitan branch of the county’s library system, Barron said. That includes in today’s race for the state representative for the 58th District.
Barron said there were signs at the school directing people to the library. The change was made, he said, because voters had complained about a lack of parking and other issues at the school.
The move affects 2,340 voters, he said.
Barron said turnout was light for the election, and only 26 people had voted early.
“It’s like the slowest election I’ve ever seen here,” he said. “It’s pretty poor turnout.”
The race pits three Democrats against each other to fill the unexpired term of Simone Bell in the state house: Park Cannon, Ralph Long III and Kwame Thompson.
