Gwinnett County’s newest community improvement district has elected its first board of directors.

The Sugarloaf Community Improvement District is a group of commercial property owners who have agreed to pay an extra property tax for improvements in the Sugarloaf Parkway/I-85 area near Duluth. The Gwinnett Board of Commissioners recently approved the new district.

Now property owners have elected a board of directors:

•Post 1 - Joseph Macrina, COO, Wolverton & Associates.

•Post 2 - Chris Brown, senior vice president (Southeast region), Duke Realty.

•Post 3 - Brand Morgan, CEO, Brand Properties.

•Post 4 - Crawford Arnold, director, TPA Group.

•Post 5 - Jim Ezell, executive vice president, Retail Planning Corporation.

•Post 6 - Tom Wheeler, board of directors vice chairman, Wheeler/Brand.

Morgan will serve as chairman and Ezell will serve as vice chairman.

Other board officers include:

•Treasurer - Stan Hall, Gwinnett Sports Commission.

•Assistant Treasurer - Craig Brown, Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce.

•Secretary - Scott Meadows, Wheeler/Brand.

•Assistant Secretary - Norwood Davis, 12Stone Church.

A seventh district board member will be appointed by the Gwinnett Board of Commissioners.
