The 25,000-square-foot Metropolitan Library is set to open in Atlanta on Oct. 1.
The library on Metropolitan Parkway will replace the Stewart-Lakewood Library, which will close to the public at 6 p.m. Sept. 18.
It's the latest of eight new libraries that voters supported when they approved a $275 million library construction bond in 2008. Two of the libraries opened last year, and four others opened earlier this year, including the new Alpharetta Library in July.
The final new facility, the Southeast Atlanta Library, will open by the end of the year.
