Early voting for the May 24 primary election begins this week, and Gwinnett County residents will be able to cast their ballots at eight locations.
A host of state legislative, County Commission, court and other offices are up for election this year, and Democrats believe they have a shot at ending Republican's long domination of Gwinnett County politics.
Registered voters can request an absentee ballot by mail or cast their ballot in person from May 2 to May 20, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gwinnett County Elections Office, 455 Grayson Highway, Lawrenceville.
In addition, the county will offer early voting at seven satellite locations on weekdays from May 16-20:
Bogan Park Community Recreation Center, 2723 North Bogan Road, Buford.
Dacula Park Activity Building, 2735 Auburn Avenue, Dacula.
George Pierce Park Community Recreation Center, 55 Buford Highway, Suwanee.
Lenora Park Activity Room (Not the gym), 4515 Lenora Church Road, Snellville.
Lucky Shoals Park Community Recreation Center, 4651 Britt Road, Norcross.
Mountain Park Activity Building (Adjacent to the Aquatic Center), 1063 Rockbridge Road, Stone Mountain.
Shorty Howell Park Activity Building, 2750 Pleasant Hill Road, Duluth.
In addition to weekday voting, Gwinnett also will offer Saturday voting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 7 and May 14.
