It was a mixed victory Tuesday for Gwinnett's urban farmers, who now have extended opportunities to raise bees, but still cannot have backyard chickens in residential neighborhoods.

The chickens will be reconsidered next month, after Gwinnett’s leaders have a chance to do more research on a proposed ordinance that would allow up to 10 hens on property that was not zoned for agriculture.

The beekeeping ordinance, which passed, allows for two hives per 10,000 square feet.
