Fulton County, city offices, close early
Some local government offices will close early Friday, in preparation for expected winter weather.
Sandy Springs announced that its city hall and general city services will close at noon. The administrative offices in Union City will also close at noon. Johns Creek will close at 1:30 p.m.
East Point announced that its offices were closing at 2 p.m. That city’s fire stations will be open as warming stations.
Hapeville will close its offices at 2:30 p.m. Milton’s city hall will close at 3 p.m.
Fulton County government offices will close at 1:30 p.m.
The Fulton County courthouse and its annexes will close then, as well.
All county events and activities scheduled for Saturday will be canceled. The county’s parks and libraries will remain closed Saturday.
In Roswell, the city’s parks and historic homes will close at 5 p.m. Any scheduled programs and classes after 5 p.m. will be canceled. The facilities will reopen and programs will resume at 1 p.m. Saturday. The city’s recycling center will not open until 1 p.m. Saturday.
In Alpharetta, the Big Creek Greenway is closed.
One street, Harelston Road, is closed in Sandy Springs due to a downed tree. Both Alpharetta and Roswell said they expected to see downed trees in their areas, but no closings were reported.
