The Gwinnett Village Community Improvement District board has named a Duluth City Council member as the sole finalist to become the district’s new executive director.
Marsha Anderson Bomar has more than 40 years of experience in the field of civil engineering, planning and community development. She founded the companies Street Smarts and Data Smarts, which grew to have more than 120 employees and nearly $20 million in annual revenue before they were bought by Stantec, an international consulting company.
Anderson Bomar has served on the Duluth City Council since 2006. She also is an international past president and fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and chaired the Olympic Task Force Support Group on Goods Movement for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
The Gwinnett Village Community Improvement District is a Norcross-area group of commercial property owners that pays for transportation and other improvements.
Anderson Bomar would replace Chuck Warbington, who recently left the district to become city manager of Lawrenceville.
On Monday the CID board voted unanimously to name her the sole finalist. The board is expected to formally hire her at a special called meeting later this month.
