The DeKalb Board of Commissioners signed off assigning some some voters in Stonecrest to a new precinct.

The change was proposed by the county’s Board of Registration and Elections to ease overcrowding and more evenly distribute voters.

The 3,335 affected residents will see their polling location moved from the Woodrow Road precinct to the Stonecrest Library. Another 3,270 residents will continue to vote at the old location.

The change will go into effect for the general election in November.
