Company withdraws plans for rehab center near Lawrenceville

July 25, 2016

A company has withdrawn plans for a drug and alcohol treatment center between Lawrenceville and Grayson.

As The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported last week, Fresh Start Foundations of Loganville had proposed building a 60,000-square-foot residential rehabilitation center on 61 acres at 1680 Chandler Road. The proposal was scheduled to be heard by the Gwinnett County Planning Commission in September.

But foundation Executive Director Chad Millsaps sent a letter to the county planning department last week, withdrawing the proposal. The letter did not give a reason for the withdrawal or indicate whether it would be resubmitted later.

However, Millsaps concluded his letter by stating, “This isn’t the end of my quest to help fight drug addiction.”
