Fifty Atlanta schools will start offering free dinner to students participating in school-sponsored after-school programs, thanks to federal funding. That includes students on athletic teams, in school clubs and enrolled in after-school care.
Long Middle School and Mays and Douglass high schools have already begun offering the meals. The program will begin at all participating schools on Sept. 15.
