For the fourth consecutive year, Fulton County Schools can claim the most Master Teachers in the state.

The Georgia Master Teacher Certification Program, created by the General Assembly in 2005, recognizes Georgia's best teachers who have positively influenced student achievement in the classroom. This year, seven of 24 Master Teachers hail from Fulton County.

To earn Master Teacher status, teachers with at least three years of experience teaching on a Clear Renewable Certificate fill out an application and are evaluated on student achievement. Out of 842 Master Teachers statewide, Fulton schools boasts 117 total, giving it the highest number of Master Teachers in the state.
