Hundreds of thousands of metro Atlanta students will return to school on Monday, Aug. 6, when four of the state's largest school systems head back to class.

The weather is expected to be typical August weather as classes kick off. Warm by the afternoon, with temperatures near 90 degree, and with a chance of showers in the afternoon.

Fulton County Schools, Gwinnett County Public Schools, DeKalb County School District and Clayton County Public Schools will begin the 2018-19 school year on Aug. 6.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution will have reporters scattered across the districts to bring you news and photos.

You can get an inside peek at your school’s performance and how it compares to others in your system or the state in the AJC’s Ultimate Atlanta School Guide. Bookmark it to use whenever you have a question.
