Rockdale County Public Schools' theater community has been shining in the spotlight recently with regional titles in the Georgia High School Association One Act competitions. The Heritage High Patriot Players won the Region 3-AAAAAA One Act Championship for their performance of August Wilson's "Fences." They were also awarded Best Ensemble Cast and Crew; Best Actor, Ramone Nelson; Best Actress, Cortlyn Mays, and Best Supporting Actor, Christian Anderson. Salem High School Theatre won the trophy as Region 4-AAAA One Act Champion for their performance of "25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee." They were also awarded Best Supporting Actor, Jordan Moreno; Best Actor, Naz Harvey; and Star Performers, Demetrious Sampson and Kristen Bolton.
