The DeKalb County School District has established a hotline dedicated to questions related to lead testing throughout the district’s schools.
The “Let’s Be Sure It’s Pure” hotline is open as of today.
According to a press release, operators will man the phone lines between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. They will answer general questions, says the release, about the testing schedule and test results. Technical questions will be referred to testing experts. They are expected to contact callers with answers within 24 hours.
School officials announced lead testing at all buildings during the September Board of Education meeting. Superintendent Steve Green said at the time that issues with water in Flint, Mich., prompted an emergency declaration, approving approximately $450,000 to test drinking sources.
