Parents hold annexation meeting with state and local officials

The Druid Hills High School PTSA will host a meeting Thursday so state and local officials can explain ramifications of a proposed annexation of the area by Atlanta.

A group calling itself Together in Atlanta wants the city to take the high school and part of the neighborhoods within its attendance zone. That would leave a majority of the school’s enrollment behind in unincorporated DeKalb County.

Elected or appointed officials from the Georgia General Assembly and from the city and county governments and school systems were invited to speak. PTSA President Nancy Rosetti said Wednesday that only Atlanta Public Schools had declined to participate. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in the high school’s Uhry Theater, 1798 Haygood Dr. Ne, Atlanta.
