Two Georgia school principals are among 59 outstanding elementary and middle school principals being honored as 2015 National Distinguished Principals.
Christi Hildebrand and Melanie H. Sigler will be honored Friday in Washington, D.C., by the National Association of Elementary School Principals for their outstanding work.
Hildebrand is principal at Elm Street Elementary School in Newnan. Sigler is principal of Burney-Harris-Lyons Middle School in Athens.
Established in 1984, the two-day celebration program recognizes public and private-school principals for their contributions to their schools and communities. The 59 principals are selected by NAESP state affiliates and committees representing private and overseas schools.
