School leaders from the northern and eastern parts of the state will lead Georgia’s association for school board members in the next school year.

At a meeting last week, representatives from 124 school boards elected the 2016-17 officers of the Georgia School Boards Association.

Will Wade, chairman of the Dawson County School Board, becomes the association president. Tom Odom, chairman of the Oconee County School Board, was selected as president-elect. Katrina Young, of the Rockdale County School Board, was picked as vice president. And George Bevels, with the Floyd County School Board, continues as treasurer.
