Students from Carver High School won $1,500 for its athletic program in the third annual 7-on-7 Invitational Tournament, hosted by current and former NFL players and urban fashion and lifestyle retailer Downtown Locker Room.

Officials said Carver High beat students from Rockdale High 18-5 to take the tournament. Students from Grady, McNair, North Clayton, Best Academy, Cedar Grove, Lithonia and Mt. Zion high schools also participated. The event was put on by Atlanta Falcon Jonathan Babineaux, Morgan Burnett of the Green Bay Packers, former Baltimore Raven Daniel Wilcox and former Atlanta Falcon Chauncey Davis.

Downtown Locker Room began hosting free football-skills camps in the Atlanta area for student athletes. It evolved into a 7-on-7 football match-up in recent years to help the area’s top football players gain more exposure and possibly college scholarships.

Downtown Locker Room partners with NFL stars in Atlanta, Baltimore, St. Louis and Chicago for annual free football camps for student athletes and its 7-on-7 matches.
