Atlanta Public Schools and Achieve Atlanta are offering a series of workshops on how to pay for college.

As acceptance letters from colleges are beginning to arrive in mailboxes, learning how to pay for or finance a degree will be a key to success.

There will be workshop sessions on dual enrollment (earning college credits while still in high school), an overview of filling out the federal financial aid form to qualify for grants and loans, and overviews of HOPE, Zell Miller and Achieve Atlanta scholarships.

The sessions will be:

December 13 at Carver High School, 55 McDonough Blvd., SE, for students from Carver, Carver Early College, Forrest Hills and South Atlanta high schools.

January 10 at North Atlanta High School, 4111 Northside Parkway, NW, for North Atlanta High.

January 17 at Jackson High School, 801 Glenwood Ave, SE, for Crim, Drew Charter, Grady and Jackson high schools

January 31 at Douglass High School, 225 Hamilton Holmes Dr., NW, for students from BEST, Douglass, KIPP, Washington and Correta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy.
