Students in 18 Atlanta elementary schools will soon begin receiving basic golf instruction, character education and health lessons through The First Tee National School Program.

The program, which will be incorporated into students’ physical education curriculum, is designed to develop positive personal and social values while providing fun lessons.

Physical education teachers will be trained for the program Monday, and then it will be implemented with support from Georgia Power, the largest subsidiary of the Southern Company, a corporate partner of the PGA Tour.
