The Fulton County school board will vote on the appointment of an interim superintendent at its Tuesday meeting.

The decision of who to tap as temporary leader comes after Fulton County Schools Superintendent Jeff Rose announced last month that he would resign at the end of the year. Rose cited personal reasons for leaving before the end of his contract, which expires Oct. 31, 2019.

Rose’s resignation is effective Dec. 31.

The school board had delayed Rose’s annual review from June until October to give more time to collect information before considering a renewal of his contract. He became superintendent in 2016.

The school board will meet Tuesday for a work session that begins at 12:30 p.m. with an executive session slated to run until 2 p.m.

The board will meet at North Learning Center, 450 Northridge Parkway in Sandy Springs.
