A Fulton County elementary school principal will become the next principal of Tri-Cities High School.

Shateena Love, who has led Hamilton Holmes Elementary since 2015, will move into the high school leadership post at Tri-Cities on July 15.

Both schools are in the same cluster of schools located around East Point.

Love takes over after the resignation of Tri-Cities principal Temerion McCrary-Lakes. A Fulton County Schools spokesman said McCrary-Lakes resigned to pursue other opportunities.

Love’s previous experience includes stints as an elementary and high school principal in Jacksonville, Fla.,

She received a bachelor’s degree from Nova Southeastern University, a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of North Florida, and is certified as an instructional coach from the University of Florida, according a resume provided by the district.

During Love’s time at Hamilton Holmes Elementary, the school was removed from a state list of “turnaround eligible” schools. Those are schools who are among the lowest-performing in Georgia.
