When Sandra Meeks-Speller was hired this summer by the DeKalb County School District, she'd already been fired by a school district in Ohio after they said she was physically violent with students.

Toledo Public Schools officials said they reported Meeks-Speller to the Ohio Department of Education, which would decide whether she would lose her license to teach or work in schools.

Meeks-Speller is still licensed to teach in Ohio.
