DeKalb County school district officials said several schools were on lockdown Friday for various reasons, in wake of a school shooting in Florida where 17 students and staff were killed.
Spokesman Andre Riley said Hambrick Elementary and Stone Mountain High School were put on lockdown for about a half hour Friday morning starting at 9:30 a.m. as police chased a suspect through the area.
An hour-long lockdown at Miller Grove High School was lifted around noon. There, officials found ammunition near the gymnasium’s outer doors, prompting a scan of the area.
