DeKalb school’s chief: District won’t take part in Doraville TAD

DeKalb County School District Superintendent Steve Green said Thursday he would not gamble with hundreds of millions of dollars meant to educate children by earmarking it for redevelopment.

Developers for the former GM site in Doraville say cooperation from the city, DeKalb County and the school district — from which about half the funding needed for infrastructure fixes would come — is critical to the site’s success. They are seeking a tax allocation district to cover costs for infrastructure.
