Delayed DeKalb County elections results meant more than a week of nervous waiting for several candidates vying for DeKalb County Board of Education seats.

In the end, incumbents Joyce Morley and Vickie B. Turner were elected to new terms in different experiences. Turner outlasted a challenge from three other candidates, receiving 61% of votes cast. Morley ran unopposed.

Deirdre Pierce and Willie R. Mosley Jr. will face each other in a runoff on Aug. 11 for the seat being vacated by Michael Erwin. Pierce and Mosley received the most voted out of the field of four candidates, with no one person crossing the 50% threshold.

Anna Hill bested Andrew Ziffer in the race for the seat being vacated by Stan Jester, earning more than 58% of the votes cast.
