Fulton County schools is scheduling community meetings in south Fulton to discuss the proposed closing of three elementary schools in aging facilities – Oak Knoll, Harriet Tubman, and Mt. Olive – that will be replaced by two new schools, one at the former College Park Elementary School site, the second at a site yet to be determined. The meetings will also ask for community input on redistricting of south Fulton middle and high schools to accommodate changes in population and school capacities. The meetings will be held at 7 p.m. in the evening at Woodland Middle School, 2745 Stone Road, East Point, and at Banneker High School, 6015 Feldwood Road, College Park. They will be held in three rounds, each meeting with a specific purpose. Round one: Monday, Oct. 29, Woodland Middle School; Tuesday, Oct. 30, Banneker High School. Round two: Monday, Nov. 26, Woodland Middle School, and Tuesday, Nov. 27, Banneker High School. Round three: Monday, Dec. 10, Woodland Middle School, and Tuesday, Dec. 11, Banneker High School.
