Marietta City Schools are among several North Georgia school districts that will operate under a two-hour delay Friday because of the potential for icy conditions.

Douglas County, Forsyth County and Gainesville City schools also will be under a two-hour delay. Kennesaw State University also announced that classes won’t begin until 10 a.m.

There are several districts that will be closed, including Dawson County, Floyd County, Lumpkin County, Polk County, Rome City, Towns County, White County and Whitfield County.

The Cobb County School District canceled school-related activities prior to noon Friday. That district is on winter break, so there are no classes. The district announced on Thursday afternoon that it would cancel activities such as athletic events, camps and clubs.
