City to offer safety recommendations after students robbed

The Decatur city school system will hold a safety meeting for parents and students Thursday in response to three armed robberies last week.

The incidents occurred after Friday’s football game between Decatur and Grady high schools. The victims, Decatur students, were unharmed, according to Superintendent Phyllis Edwards.

The system may respond by increasing security for high school sporting events. In the meantime, police will provide safety recommendations at the 6:30 p.m. meeting in the high school theater.
