A pharmaceutical manufacturer has recalled a specific shipment of a meningitis vaccine as a precaution after a batch was compromised during the manufacturing process.

MENVEO lot number M16095 was recalled earlier this month by GlaxoSmithKline. It was shipped between Jan. 4 and Jan. 16. The company is asking that leftovers from the shipment be returned.

The meningitis vaccine is not a required vaccination for students in Georgia schools.

More and more parents are choosing not to vaccinate their children. Our kid reporter, Sammy, explains how this is putting unvaccinated children and vulnerable people who come in contact with them, like infants or grandparents, at greater risk.
