Carroll County school bus crash

A high school student was killed and several people were injured in a school bus crash in Carroll County on Monday, October 4, 2010.

One person was killed and at least a dozen were injured in a school bus accident in Carroll County Monday, October 4, 2010. School board officials say the bus was transporting students from Temple High School.

Those that have gathered at Temple High School to await news regarding their loved ones console one another.

As parents came to pick up their children from school, there were moments of relief upon being reunited.

Rescue crews descended on the scene of a single vehicle school bus crash in Carroll County. The bus was traveling south when the driver lost control and ran into a ditch, according to the Georgia State Patrol. The bus overturned during the accident.

Shortly after the accident, the sheriff's office asked concerned parents to gather at the high school.

Students could be seen climbing aboard buses or getting into their parents' cars as school let out for the day. News of the accident was the talk of students, staff and parents.
