Black religious, political and education officials are scheduled to participate in a national education summit Friday at the Mariott Atlanta International Airport Hotel.
The summit, scheduled to last from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., is not open to the public.
Stand Up for Great Schools, a non-profit group started by Kevin Johnson, mayor of Sacramento, California and a former National Basketball Association star, is hosting the summit, which will focus on ways to reform education in black communities.
More than 100 religious figures from various denominations are expected to attend.
