In case of future winter storms, emergency food, water and medical supplies should be readily available rather than locked in refrigerators, said Atlanta Superintendent Erroll Davis on Monday.

Davis said students and teachers trapped inside schools during severe weather need to be able to eat food stored at schools for emergencies.

He also recommended that school dismissals happen sooner in the future, and that schools should be released in the same order as on a normal school day, starting with elementary students.
