Parents who hope to enroll their child in the pre-kindergarten program at Atlanta Public Schools can fill out an application beginning today.

The district will start accepting lottery applications for the 2020-2021 school year on Jan. 6. The application window closes Feb. 12 at 11:59 p.m.

Students are randomly selected for pre-kindergarten classes through an electronic lottery process. The lottery drawing takes place Feb. 24.

To apply for the lottery, children must turn 4 by Sept. 1. They also must live within the APS attendance area. District employees may apply, and applicants must have a valid email address.

For more information, visit the district's website.
