An ongoing internal investigation prompted a leadership shakeup at an Atlanta elementary school.
Atlanta Public Schools spokesman Ian Smith said Tuskegee Airmen Global Academy principal Lincoln Woods was placed on a roughly 20-day paid leave and then reassigned starting Wednesday as an assistant principal at Douglass High School. Tuskegee assistant principal Kiya Crandall will leave the school “to pursue other career opportunities,” according to a letter APS sent to parents that was obtained by Channel 2 Action News.

A school secretary, who was placed on paid leave, will report back to work after spring break.
Smith said APS is investigating “various concerns that have surfaced” at the school, but he would not provide details.
Another Tuskegee assistant principal, Yolanda Weems, will serve as the interim principal through the end of the school year.
“This decision was made in order to maintain stability and consistency, as the students and staff continue to focus on teaching and learning,” Smith said, in a written statement.
Earlier this school year, Crandall and Woods were briefly suspended without pay after an APS investigation prompted by an anonymous complaint found testing irregularities related to the sharing of a "benchmark test" with teachers before it was administered to students.
