An Atlanta Public Schools teacher has resigned after district investigators found she provided unauthorized access to district grade books.

Former Therrell High School teacher Tanisha Heard resigned in lieu of termination, district spokeswoman Kimberly Willis Green said Wednesday.

Heard did not return phone messages from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Wednesday morning.

APS declined to provide records detailing the accusations against Heard, citing state law that bars the release of records of employee investigations in certain circumstances.

Her resignation comes after revelations of multiple problems with improper grading practices in Atlanta high schools.
