If you eat it, they will fund.

The U.S. Apple Association is seeking nominations for the second year of its “Apples for Education: Buy an Apple, Help a Student” campaign. Last year, more than $21,000 was given to various student programs and projects, officials said.

On the association's website, applicants are asked to share an important cause in the community in need of financial support. Finalists will be selected in the fall, and voted on through social media.

Voters are asked to take pictures enjoying their favorite apple products — from juices to jams, solid apples or pies — using the hashtag #Apples4Ed on Instagram or Twitter. The school with the most tags receives the most funding, they say.

According to its website, The U.S. Apple Association represents the entire apple industry from growers to juice makers.
