Kamala Harris has made history again, this time becoming the first vice president to be honored with a Madame Tussaud wax figure.

The attraction in Times Square shared the news Wednesday, ahead of Harris’ 100th day in office, by releasing images and video showing the work-in-progress sculptures of President Joe Biden and Harris.

“We were keen to focus on her smile and the warmth in her eyes. It's that twinkle in the eye that's so hard to capture ... a genuine warmth that's really important to get into our figures."

- David Burks, principal sculptor

The clay heads were created by a team of sculpture artists in London and took six weeks to sculpt. The full figures will take between four to six months to complete. They will be placed in Madame Tussauds’ “Oval Office” experience in New York.

“We were keen to focus on her smile and the warmth in her eyes,” David Burks, the principal sculptor, told CNN on Thursday. “It’s that twinkle in the eye that’s so hard to capture ... a genuine warmth that’s really important to get into our figures.”

Biden and Harris’ wax figures will wear replicas of the outfits they wore during the 46th presidential inauguration ceremony. Harris’ ensemble will include her gold and pearl necklace, pearl earrings, bracelets and rings.
