Authorities in Hall County are asking for the public’s help in finding an inmate who walked away from a work detail Monday afternoon.

Derrick Crawford left a Hall County Correctional Institution work detail that was making road repairs in the northern part of the county around 12:15 p.m. Crawford is a state inmate serving a 10-year sentence for trafficking cocaine out of Douglas County, officials from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office wrote on the department’s Facebook page.

Crawford was described as a black male, 6-foot-1 and 220 pounds, last seen wearing white pants with a blue stripe and a denim coat. His last known location was near the intersection of Highway 60 and Hubert Stevens Road.

Anyone who may know Crawford’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
