A Hall County high school football player will be taking time out from his recovery from surgery this weekend to attend what is perhaps the biggest game of all – Super Bowl XLIX.
Tarik Jalil, a junior running back at Flowery Branch High School who is recovering from a second surgery to repair a torn ACL, this week was presented the trip to Arizona and game tickets by RE/MAX of Georgia.
Jalil, who is undergoing treatment for the knee injury at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, had a second setback recently when his family’s home was destroyed in a fire.
“Tarik is an exceptional young man and a role model for others,” said Dane Ellison, chief executive officer of RE/MAX Regional Services. “His outlook is truly inspiring.”
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is a partner hospital of Children’s Miracle Network, a charity supported by RE/MAX.
Attending a Super Bowl has been a life-long dream, and the real estate company “is proud to recognize Tarik and make this wish come true for him,” Ellison said in a news release.
