A Georgia man who has already spent more than 20 years in prison for bank robberies, was arrested in Florida Friday, charged with bank robberies that occurred earlier in the week in Northern Virginia, according to the Fredericksburg (Va.) Free Lance-Star.

Wayne Maurice Byrd, 61, of Stockbridge was charged with Monday robberies at banks in Falmouth and Fredericksburg.

He was arrested Friday outside a hotel in Orlando, The Free Lance-Star reported. The paper reported he was also wanted for two other robberies and a third attempt in the region in September, including the same bank he is charged with robbing in Falmouth Monday.

The paper reported Byrd is a suspect in two robberies in Georgia that took place about a half-hour apart on Thursday in Ashburn and Cordele, towns off Interstate 75 south of Macon.

Byrd has already spent about 20 years in prison on robbery-related convictions, the paper reported.
