A Florida doctor who happened to be filling up his vehicle at a gas station jumped in to save the day for a panicked woman who had gone into labor.

Dr. Javier Soto, who works at the Weusthoff Medical Center in Rockledge, was at a Speedway gas station in Merritt Island when he heard a cry for help.

The woman’s husband called out asking Soto, who was wearing his medical scrubs, if he was a medical professional.

Already on his way to the hospital to deliver another baby, Soto jumped into action and delivered the baby in the back seat of the couple’s pickup truck.

“It’s what I do on a daily basis,” Soto said. “It just so happened to be in a gas station.”

An ambulance arrived to take the woman and her newborn, who appeared to be OK, to the hospital.
