The statue of Atlanta Braves slugger Hank Aaron should remain at it’s location near Turner Field, said the leader of Fulton County’s government on Monday.

The Braves say the statue, which commemorates Aaron’s breaking of the home-run record set by Babe Ruth, is headed to Cobb County with the team in two years, but the Atlanta Fulton County Recreation Authority says ownership is not so clear.

“I think it should stay where it is,” said Fulton County Chairman Johns Eaves during a meeting with members of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s editorial board. “There should be some memorializing of the Braves and Aaron, as well as the Olympics [at that location].”

The statue was erected at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium in 1982, and later moved to Turner Field. The Braves are moving to the SunTrust Park in Cobb County in 2017.
