Those hoping to get outdoors this weekend are in luck.
The next three days are expected to be sunny and warm with a relatively low chance of afternoon showers.
“It’s a weekend that’s going to be pretty dry across North Georgia,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said. “Eighty percent of your weekend is going to be dry ... so overall, we’re looking good for the outdoor plans.”
Friday is off to a warm start, with a temperature of about 76 degrees in Atlanta. The afternoon high today is expected to reach 91 degrees.
While some isolated showers will move through metro Atlanta today, the rain shouldn’t be very heavy or very widespread, according to the latest forecast.
“We do have a little bit of rain,” Monahan said. “A couple sprinkles and showers out there.”

Like Thursday, however, most of those showers are expected to clear out by sunrise before returning later this afternoon, he said.
The chances of weekend showers drops to just 10% Saturday and 20% Sunday as the afternoon high increases to 93 degrees both days. Those conditions should make for nice afternoons to spend at the pool or lake, according to Monahan.

As of 6 a.m., there were no major delays reported on Atlanta’s interstates, the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center reported.
“Really nice start to the rush hour, folks,” WSB traffic reporter Mark Arum said. “There’s really no need to rush out of the house.”
