A few more clouds in the sky Friday will be the only weather concern to kick off what should be a beautiful weekend.
Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said the clouds will limit sunshine and put a cap on temperatures Friday. But there is no chance of rain in the forecast, and temperatures in the 50s and 60s are about average for this time of year.
“No big weather issues today, and really for the next several days it’s going to be pretty nice around North Georgia,” Monahan said.
Goooood morning and happy Friday!

Comfortable start this morning, a bit cool... and a bit cooler for all of us this afternoon.
I'm looking ahead to your weekend forecast -- through 7am on Channel 2! @wsbtv
Temperatures are starting the day in the 40s, according to Channel 2. Pavement may be dry, but multiple crashes, a pedestrian accident and an interstate shooting have made a mess of things on the roads.
“An unbelievably horrible start to the Friday morning rush,” WSB traffic reporter Mark Arum said.
If I were you...I wouldn't get on I-20 this morning. TWO Traffic Red Alerts and one Gridlock Alert. I've got your back with alternate routes every 10 minutes on #wsbtv. #ATLtraffic pic.twitter.com/81NRrAfi8N

There are delays on I-20 on both sides of the city after two interstate shutdowns, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
In DeKalb County, a crash was blocking all eastbound lanes at Panola Road before the lanes reopened just before 6 a.m. In Douglas County, all eastbound lanes remain shut down at Ga. 5 while authorities investigate a crash involving a pedestrian.
RED ALERT continues - I-20/eb still shut down at Hwy 5 (exit 34) into Douglasville. Please use 78/Veterans Memorial Hwy. to avoid this closure. Updates every 6 mins. on 95.5 @wsbradio. #ATLtraffic pic.twitter.com/bDx2sPc1bC

While outbound delays are improving in DeKalb, Arum said the I-20 shutdown in Douglasville could last a while.
“It could be out there for the rest of the morning drive, or at least a major chunk of it,” he said. “You want to use your alternates in from Douglasville: U.S. 78 or Douglas Boulevard.”
Another crash on I-20 West at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard was blocking all but one right lane at 6 a.m., the Traffic Center reported.
And there are still delays through Gwinnett County after an early morning shooting shut down I-85 South near Jimmy Carter Boulevard. The lanes began reopening shortly after 5 a.m.
GCPD is investigating an early morning homicide that happened on I-85 South near JCB. Officers responded to a shooting on the interstate just before 3AM and discovered one male who was shot and died at a local hospital. Atlanta is expected to reach a high of 63 degrees Friday afternoon under a mostly cloudy sky. Monahan said sunshine should return Saturday afternoon after a slight chance of an early morning shower.
“We’ll start cloudy, finish sunny Saturday,” he said. “A beautiful Sunday in the forecast, and we get a little cooldown, too, as we head into the start of the week.”
It'll get a little cooler over the weekend... but, for the most part, it's going to feel like April across north Georgia over the next 7-10 days!

Going through that with you 4:30-7am on Channel 2! @wsbtv
Saturday’s projected high is just 56 degrees, according to Channel 2. Sunday afternoon should be slightly warmer with highs in the low 60s, but Monahan expects temperatures will dip into the 30s Sunday morning.
